New Jersey Railroads Timetable Archive

Pennsylvanaia Railroad, Philadelphia and Long Branch, via Seaside Park, April 27, 1924.

I've decided to create an archive of timetables from New Jersey railroads. The scans below are of timetables from my collection. As time permits, I will add more to this page. I'm experimenting with scanning techniques and file formats. You'll find JPG, GIF, and PNG files here. I believe that I've come close to ideal with the combination of 300 DPI monochrome (2 color) scan and GIF file format (see NYSW 1929 westbound for an example). This seems to give the best combination of legibility and file size.
You can view a virtual directory of all scans here.
Also to be found here is an inventory of my timetable collection, excluding the large-ish box of current/recent timetable that I have no desire to sort at the moment. I will make photocopies of timetables not yet scanned if you ask nicely.
If you want to donate relevant timetables, contact me. You can contact me via this form.
Timetable Inventory. Warning: This file was summoned forth from a MS Excel XP file. It may not display properly on older/non-microsoft browsers (I don't have anything other than IE 6, so I can't test it.)

I have begun to collect a bibliography of CNJ related magazine articles, books, et al. Bibliography
A wonderful chap, Otto M. Vondrak of Harrison, New York was kind enough to donate a whole bunch of scans of timetable covers

This timetable was too large to fit on the bed of my scanner, so I used an impromptu copy stand and digital camera to copy it. There are some illegible areas, because the original is in terrible shape.
